“Double Booked” Enters Final Draft

Playwright Callum Wry is putting the finishing touches on his farcical comedy Double Booked.

Set entirely in the lobby of a small countryside B&B, the play thrives on mistaken identities, overlapping reservations, and doors that never seem to stay shut. With each draft, the timing has sharpened, the dialogue has grown snappier, and the chaos has become more deliciously impossible.

The final draft is now complete, preparing the script for a table read and workshop staging. These next steps will bring the text off the page and into the rehearsal room, where actors and director will test its pace, rhythm, and comic energy in front of a live audience.

Wry describes this stage as “where the paper blueprint becomes real theatre.” Audiences can expect a witty, fast-paced farce filled with the classic mechanics of the genre: misplaced luggage, overheard conversations, locked doors, and unexpected arrivals—all tumbling toward an inevitable collision.

Stay tuned for workshop dates and updates as Double Booked moves closer to its premiere.
